This chapter looks at how MIS investments benefit business. It sets up the context for the rest of the book.

Goals


  • Briefly explain what a business strategy is
  • Show how IT can help implement a business strategy
  • Introduce a model of firms as value systems

At the end of the book, we'll look again at how MIS can help firms be more competitive. It will make more sense once you know more about MIS.
